Big Scare
Here is the most recent picture of Gabriel from this past weekend in Moses Lake. He is sitting in the van playing with his cousin Rebecca, who he adored.
Last night we had a big scare. Gabriel had a febrile seizure, in other words his fever spiked so quickly that he went into a seizure. It was very scary! Kyle went in to get him up from a nap and he was twitching. He brought him out to me to see and we noticed that he was turning blue. We ran out the door and drove to the emergency room. (We live very close to the Enumclaw Hospital, about a five minute drive.) By the time we got to the emergency room he was no longer seizing but gasping for air. His temperature was 105 degrees! He eventually calmed down and cooled down. The docs checked him out and found that there was nothing seriously wrong with him and sent him home. He did well through the night, sleeping most of the night. He saw his doc today and he said that he has a bit of bronchitis and to keep an eye on him to make sure he doesn't get worse but he should be alright. God was with us on this. It was amazing to me how quickly we got to the hospital and how well he recovered . It really shows how fragile all of us are and how Gabriel is ultimately God's child.
On a lighter note we are getting ready to fly once again to Ohio, but this time it is to visit my family and travel by car to Kentucky for a big family reunion. It should be a lot of fun! We are also getting ready for Gabriel's first birthday. It is hard to believe he is almost one year old. I will try to write more often but until I get internet at our apartment it is difficult.
